The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages’ Standards for Advanced Spanish Speakers

Dynamo Spanish uses the standards set by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) to determine the content that will be covered in our Spanish courses. The CEFR is a series of steps that help teachers and students determine where someone is skill-wise when it comes to language learning.
Our advanced level Spanish language courses correspond to CEFR Level C1 and Level C2.
Students working at the C1 level should be able to:
- Understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts and recognize implicit meaning
- Express ideas fluently and spontaneously without much obvious searching for expressions
- Use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes
- Produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, showing controlled use of organizational patterns, connectors and cohesive devices
Students working at the C2 level should be able to:
- Understand virtually everything they hear or read with ease
- Summarize information coming from a variety of spoken and written sources and reconstruct arguments and accounts coherently
- Can express themselves spontaneously with fluency and precision, as well as differentiate between shades of meaning in even complex situations
